To me, the journey of enhancing performance is intrinsically tied to elevating leadership skills. Organisations can improve their processes, methods, and systems, but if the leaders of these organisations aren't continuously growing and evolving, sustaining any positive change becomes a challenge.
To truly amplify performance, a leader must have the courage to confront problems. The first step to this is Listening. Truly listening to your teams and stakeholders.
And for that, understanding one's own relationship with mistakes, and with learning from mistakes—both personal and those of others—is vital in becoming a better leader.
I've always held the conviction that the cornerstone of influential leadership is self-awareness. It not only shapes better leaders but also drives superior results.
Recently I joined my friend Yuri Bobbert on his new podcast to discuss my views on leadership and authenticity. Watch the conversation here.
